Bishop Dr. Billy G Newton
Bishop Newton is the Senior Pastor of the Word of God Church at 1733 Mercy Drive. He serves as the Bishop of the 29th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW), Inc. He is a man of vision and integrity, seeking to fulfill God’s purpose and destiny. He was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 12. He was called into ministry in 1962 under the pastorage of the deceased Leroy Jacobs. He became an ordained minister in 1982 after being called to pastor The Word of God Church in June of 1981. The Word of God Church P.A.of W, Inc. has grown tremendously spiritually and physically since its inception in 1953. This ministry has proven to be a progressive body of believers who are striving for Excellence in Ministry! Today, the church continues to grow as God sends the help needed to perfect His divine purpose for this ministry. Bishop Newton is a serious man of God dedicated to winning souls. His heart is truly turned towards God as he seeks further direction on “Building a Spiritual Community to Impact the Whole Man.”
